I loved chatting with local people on the walk to the beach, which is also reachable by a local bus for a very low fare. The hostel has a good reputation, feels extremely safe, and supports local and national cultural heritage. I didn’t lose anything or experience crime like you encounter in the hotel zone. There’s free breakfast and a wide range of tours, and the owners and experienced staff are very kind and helpful.

I stayed for over a month, and everyone there was excellent. It felt like a family run home away from home, with the nicest staff, always ready to help with anything. The facilities are basic, but kept exceptionally clean. The hostel is around the corner from the main bus station and within walking distance of everything you need to enjoy Cancun, whether you’re staying a short time or longer. Breakfast was included, and my private room was clean, with a hot shower. The toilet kept clogging, though that wasn’t only the hostel’s fault, since other guests kept flushing toilet paper despite the clear signs asking them not to. The location is great, outside the hotel district and surrounded by bars, restaurants, and parks. It’s quite far from the beach if that matters to you. The price was a bit high for what I’m used to paying, probably because of the time of year I visited.

The receptionists were very nice and helpful, and breakfast was included. The roof gets a pleasant breeze, and the air conditioning runs from 8:30 PM to 11 AM. The shower was a little dirty, and the dorms are shared by all genders.

The people were nice and the community was lovely, but it wasn’t worth the hassle of dealing with bed bugs. I ran into what was definitely a serious infestation and am still trying to get rid of them. It’s cheap, but you’ll probably spend the savings and more on laundry afterward.
