Oleo Cancun Playa All Inclusive Resort

What stood out was how well cared for I felt throughout this special stage of my pregnancy. At the spa, Josefina was wonderful, always smiling and giving me incredible massages adapted to my prenatal stage. Francisco, serving the beach and pool, was attentive and kind, and kept making sure we were comfortable. Erendida was warm and friendly, checking in to see how everything was going. The food was delicious, and I appreciated the non-alcoholic beer and sparkling wine. It was a thoughtful touch that made me feel included. Oleo Cancun Playa is small, but has what you need to relax and disconnect. We had a wonderful stay, and I'd definitely come back.

We chose the Junior Sunset Suite, and the private balcony overlooking the sunset each night became one of our favorite parts of the trip. The room had been recently renovated, was comfortable and clean, and housekeeping kept it in good shape. The resort is small, around 150 rooms, which made it feel personal. By the end of our seven days, we'd gotten to know staff and other guests. Food was better than we expected every day. Dinner had three different options each night, and the coffee shop and snack bar were open most of the day with tasty quick bites. Service was excellent, with everyone we met friendly and attentive. We had no complaints about it. For current details on menus and the resort, we found the Oleo Playa app much more useful than the website, and recommend it if you have food questions before booking. This place had a nice mix of relaxation and a welcoming social feel. We'd absolutely return and recommend it to anyone after a smaller, high-quality resort. We only wish we'd stayed longer.

There was no nighttime entertainment and very little to do beyond eating food I wouldn't serve anyone I knew and drinking bottom-shelf liquor. It's not a kid-friendly resort, and I'm glad we didn't bring our son. When we checked out at noon, we handed in our bracelets and asked if we could use the hotel until our bus came. They said it would cost an extra $11 per person. We laughed and told them the food and drinks weren't worth $11 each. Hopefully our last meal at the airport would taste more Mexican than this place did. The hotel is badly outdated, with cracked tiles, dirty windows, and furniture that looked secondhand, chipped, or lopsided. The food disappointed me, especially after staying at other resorts where it was amazing. There was nothing Mexican about this place, and the alcohol was all bottom shelf, not top or middle shelf. It felt like they cut corners wherever they could. I'd give it 2.3 out of 5 stars.

If you want activities and a lively resort, this isn't the place. It felt very dead. The food was horrible, and there weren't many choices. The room was decent and the beds were comfortable, but we stayed five days and it was cleaned only once. They say they clean every other day, but even that seems questionable. The views are nice if you get an oceanfront room. If all you want is somewhere to stay and relax on the beach, this resort could suit you. For what we paid, though, we could have stayed somewhere better.
