Hotel Riu Ventura - All Inclusive

The pool steps are extremely slippery and dangerous. I saw three other people fall during our stay, including one who was sent to the hospital. A family member of mine also fell and will need major surgery. The stone has no texture, so this needs to be addressed immediately. Snack bar choices were limited, and I wish there were more variety. There’s no room service either, which is unusual for an all-inclusive. The hotel itself is very nice, and the rooms were very clean. Most of the staff were kind and hospitable, especially the buffet wait staff and cleaning team. The exception was the woman at the front desk who checked us in. She was curt and seemed to have an attitude.

The beach is beautiful and right there, good for bodyboarding, surfing and jet skiing. I recommend catching the 9pm shows. The buffet is usually very good compared with other all-inclusive hotels, about 4.5 out of 5, while poolside snacks are more like 2.0. There’s no room service, in case that matters to you. It’s a fairly new hotel near Dolphin beach, and staff are friendly and attentive. Caution: during my visit I saw three guest injuries from slips in and around the pool.

Angie from the entertainment staff made my vacation extra memorable. She was friendly, fun and helpful, welcomed me so kindly, and even taught me salsa dancing. Her energy made every interaction enjoyable. The hotel had a lovely atmosphere, was clean, and had great amenities and a relaxing feel. All the staff were warm, professional and always ready to help with a smile. They made me feel cared for from arrival to departure. I had an amazing stay at Hotel Ventura and would absolutely come back. Thanks to the whole team!

The Riu parties are always a blast and a big reason we stay. They’re well organized, full of attention to detail, and the shuttle takes you there and back. We’ll look forward to our next stay at the next Riu. This was our second review for our annual anniversary trip, and we’re big Riu people. We stayed at a family resort this time instead of adults only, but it wasn’t overrun with kids. I’d say the mix was 70/30 adults and couples to families, which was a nice surprise. The property is beautiful, brand new and very well maintained, though more compact than Costa mujeres, where we stayed the year before. It’s on the hotel zone strip at the south end, about a 15 min bus ride from downtown Cancun. Staff were excellent overall, and Brandon at the front desk set us up with a great room and was always helpful. Our room had partial ocean and pool views, was clean, and the air conditioning worked well. The pools were a bit small, though that’s standard for reuse, and I wish they were bigger. Drinks were good but not great. Many were syrupy, especially the fruitier ones, unless you got a mojito or something more carbonated. My husband loves pina coladas and liked these, though he wished they were stronger, so he ordered doubles. Buffet food was decent, but the restaurants weren’t as good as at Rio Latino, where we stayed last year. The Italian was the best, as usual. The steakhouse was probably the worst food quality I’ve experienced. My steak was rare twice. They offered to cook it a third time, but I’d given up on dinner by then and found everything unimpressive. The service itself was the only good part, and everyone was kind about it. All in all, a great trip and really good value for the money.
