The Yellow Capsule Cancun Close to Airport

I only stayed a short time, but it was a really good experience. If you're going to Cancun and need an affordable place near the airport, whether for one night or a longer stay, this is a good option. The place feels futuristic, and the capsules, showers, and bathrooms were all very clean. Someone is at the front desk 24/7 if you need help. I used their shuttle from the airport and again to get to my other hotel. When I had to change the second ride suddenly, the receptionist sorted it out quickly and efficiently, so the whole thing was stress-free.

The fresh breakfast was a great perk. They ask how many waffles, eggs, and meat you'd like, and bring fruit on the side. This was one of my best hostel stays, honestly such a cool experience. The front desk workers were super nice and hospitable. You'll need $40 cash as a holding deposit for the capsule key and locker key, $20 for each. There are lockers for your things, separate women's and men's bathrooms and showers, and separate women's and men's capsule areas. It's tucked away, with a Walmart close by and good restaurants to the right of the property. At night you can walk around the little plaza, and there's a beach about 6-10 minutes away. Uber rides are really affordable, so I'd use one and tip extra. I'd recommend it for solo travelers or couples. Cancun is an amazing place, and I really enjoyed it!

It's almost 7 am and I haven't slept at all. The mattress is uncomfortable, and although it's a little cool outside, the staff have the heat cranked up to around 88.6 Fahrenheit. It feels like a Florida summer, I'm sweating. I've opened my pod door hoping to cool the cube down, but none of the climate controls in it work. Note to the owner: spend some of the profits on memory foam mattresses and tell the women at the desk not to overheat the whole place. Keeping it at 90 degrees is wasting a lot of electricity. I just checked the temperature with my door open, and it reads 88.6 degrees.

Do not book here. If I could give zero stars, I would. The place literally doesn't exist anymore, but you can still book it through various apps and get a confirmation number and booking details. When we arrived, the location had been dismantled. There was no phone number or email to reach anyone. It's ridiculous that the listing hasn't been removed and keeps taking people's money without providing a place to stay. It's an absolute scam. Edit: The owner responded online saying they'd updated their "relevant channels" to say they were "relocating," but their Google page, actual WEDSITE, and other search results still showed them open at the same address. We arrived at an empty, demolished building. Nobody has contacted me about refunding the $130 for the one-night hostel stay that didn't exist, and I was left stranded without anywhere to stay. No email, no working phone line, nothing. It seems like they deliberately make themselves unreachable. This HOSTAL IS A SCAM AND IS ACTIVELY TRYING TO STEAL YOUR MONEY WHILE LEAVING YOU WITH NOWHERE TO STAY. Don't book, and report it before more travelers fall for this.
