The people who stood out most were Julio, the bartender at Sensoria Spa, whose energy and friendliness my husband and I loved; our breakfast servers Guadalupe and Modesto; Rony, our evening server; and Isaac, who refilled our room drinks every day. Many other staff were lovely too, including the cleaning team, but I didn't catch all their names. Muchos gracias! We stayed at the Sens Cancun from Feb.13th to the 20th with our 6-year old and 8-year old and had an amazing time. The resort was beautiful from front to back, with pools, beach, a fun atmosphere, kids club, and an adults only area. There was a good variety of alcoholic drinks. Our bracelet gave us access to quite a few restaurants and the adults only spa, depending on the package you buy. The food was a highlight: tasty buffets if you went early, plus the outdoor, pizzeria, Japanese, and The White Box restaurants. Booking early helped. We also enjoyed the ice cream shop, cappuccinos, Pirate show, Michael Jackson show, and beach hammocks. Lots of staff spoke English, and Google Translate helped us get by. My son and I were sick for a day or two. We think it may have been the cheese sauce in a pasta dish at The White Box, so maybe avoid that dish, though the restaurant was very tasty overall. We'd love to return. With kids our age, we really needed this getaway.

The kids had plenty to do: children's pools, beach playgrounds, a pirate ship ride, a free arcade, and unlimited ice cream at the coffee shop. It wasn't a party resort, which suited us as a family. Dinner bookings were easy through the resort app, and the sit-down restaurants all had fantastic menus. The buffets were decent, though nothing special. Breakfast and lunch choices were limited and mostly the same each day. Lines formed now and then, but going before 9:30 AM should be fine. Beach chairs and umbrellas go quickly, so get up early if you want a spot. This was our first visit to The Sens Cancun. We'd seen a lot of negative reviews, but were pleasantly surprised by how nice it was. Our black bracelets opened up extra restaurants and were definitely worth it. We booked last minute for our family of four, two adults and kids aged 9 and 6, through CheapCaribbean.com, with direct flights and Amstar shared transport. Both were easy to use and highly recommended. We had an excellent stay and would definitely come back.

The overall service wasn't great. Towels, drinks, and coffee were mostly self-serve, and restaurant servers often seemed overwhelmed or weren't around. Some restaurants had very strict dress codes for a beach vacation, and a lot had no availability, which kind of defeats the point of having access to them. Still, we had a great time. It's a clean, beautiful hotel with nice pools and lounge areas, and it's excellent for families. With a black bracelet booking, you can use many restaurants and buffets, with lots of fresh food options. Don't believe the terrible reviews. You'll enjoy it if you aren't expecting perfection.

I had a positive stay overall, largely because the staff were so professional and responsive. Alexis and a young woman at the front desk whose name I unfortunately didn't catch both stood out. She was exceptionally kind, helpful, and professional. Their attention and willingness to find solutions made a strong impression. I hope to update this review if I can find out her name. The team was generally friendly and welcoming. There were a few organizational problems. My travel agency in Canada hadn't told me about the approximately USD 100 in municipal taxes or fees for the beach, which I was asked to pay when I arrived. I had also paid extra for a suite with a jacuzzi and ocean view, but none was available that night. I spent my first night in a suite without an ocean view, which was disappointing given the extra cost. The staff took the concern seriously and resolved it the next day, which I appreciated. My departure was set for December 11, 2025, but on December 10 I was told my suite wouldn't be cleaned because I was leaving “the next day.” I raised this with the front desk lady, and she fixed it quickly. The atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing. For dinner, I recommend the à la carte restaurants over the buffets: the food is better, service is more attentive, and there are more than seven options with different cuisines. They're one of the hotel's strongest points. I'd avoid the buffets as much as possible. The hotel also puts on evening entertainment for guests who'd rather stay in than go downtown Cancún or to nightclubs. I really enjoyed the traditional Mexican music night and pirate boat show, both fun and well organized. A tattooed young female performer was excellent and made my night with her energy. I hope to find her name and add it here.

The spa was lovely, and our 50-minute relaxation massage was good. The staff there were great, too. We also liked the walkable beach, which stretches just over 1 km, and the à la carte restaurants were amazing. The buffet was only okay, but we could always find something to eat. We spent most of our time at the Oasis pool and restaurants next door, since I hadn't realized before booking that it’s basically joined to The Sens. It was very crowded for the number of guests, though maybe that’s just Cancun. I also found the room key on the check-in bracelet really convenient.
