Napoles Condo Suite

We booked what Expedia described as a four-room suite, but when we arrived, security immediately told us that Airbnb stays weren’t allowed. A sign by the entrance said the same, and we were told we couldn’t use the advertised amenities and could only enter during visitor hours. When the host came down, she said we should have called to confirm, even though we had Expedia’s confirmation. They didn’t have the suite after all and offered a two-room unit, which we declined. This was the worst experience I’ve had.

It was dirty, smelled bad, and seemed run down. Some lights didn’t work, and the rest of the place was just nasty. Expedia had described it as an entire place, but it turned out to be a shared home with three bedrooms and one bathroom. The room looked nothing like the photo. The bed was rock hard, the sheets were rough, and at six feet tall, my feet hung over the edge.

The location details were confusing from the start. There was no sign for the “hotel,” the map pin wasn’t right, and the hotel actually there was called Chicago. People nearby hadn’t heard of this place. We also found the cleaning mediocre, booking details unclear, and someone had to meet us at the entrance to let us in. All of it struck us as strange, and we came away thinking it might be a clandestine hotel. With family, I really wouldn’t recommend it. For a night or a trip with friends, it might be fine, but be careful. We had reserved five rooms and were told we’d pay when we arrived. Once there, the rooms weren’t available. They said we hadn’t paid and that they’d tried to contact us, but we hadn’t received any calls or messages. In the end, they offered us two of the five rooms, but we had to share the apartment with strangers. We never saw them, though we could hear noise.
