Hotel Juros

The rooms and beds were nice, and there’s a pool, in a good location. Mornings were the downside: lots of light and noise came in, which got a bit annoying.

The neglected feel affected more than just how the hotel looked. It came through in the service, the staff’s attitude, and the whole stay. I left disappointed, not angry. I travel to rest and enjoy myself, and instead I had to deal with poor treatment and a place that didn’t meet basic standards. I hope they make real improvements, but I wouldn’t go back or recommend it as it is now. The service felt cold from the start, almost indifferent. Even simple requests seemed to bother the staff, and I never felt welcome. The facilities were run down, old, poorly kept, and unclean, with signs that maintenance had been neglected for a long time. The photos gave me a different impression from what I found in person. I’m not hard to please and didn’t come with unrealistic expectations. I just wanted decent treatment and a comfortable stay for the money, and got neither.

I’m from Catemaco, and I’m unhappy with how they treat people. I’ve also seen sellers treated badly. I saw a post from a woman who said she’d booked with HOTEL JUROS for five years in a row for the first Friday of March event, bringing more than 40 people each year. She wrote that she was leaving Catemaco Pueblo Mágico De Tradiciones very sad. According to her, submanager Hugo was rude and dismissive, wouldn’t talk things through, and didn’t honor the reservation she’d made in advance. She had rented the hotel and space for 15 rooms, but when she arrived, they told her two reserved rooms had been moved to the ground floor and gave her different ones without warning. She also said that the night before, during an event on the terrace with Marimba Linda Estrella Catemaqueña playing, Hugo turned off the lights and came upstairs rudely to tell them to unplug everything and leave. She said they had permission from the hotel for this annual event, which was open to everyone. She felt the hotel had lost her as a customer, along with the more than 44 people she brought each year, and that those people wouldn’t recommend it either. She hoped Mr. Juan, the owner, would address the behavior of Hugo and Ramón, the people in charge, before the hotel’s former reputation declined further. She said she wouldn’t return to @hoteljuros.
