The restaurant was fabulous, and we had a really good dinner there. We also liked how easy it was to get to the beach, which had hardly anyone on it. Our spacious room had dishes, cutlery, a coffee maker, microwave, fridge, and more. It was a cute boutique style hotel, and though we only spent one night and didn't use the pool, we had a wonderful stay.

The rooms looked large, modern, and very clean when we visited, and the staff seemed friendly and helpful. We chose not to stay because a big shrimp processing plant is next door. There wasn't a smell, but the machinery noise drowned out the ocean. It's a shame, since the hotel itself looks nice. If that kind of noise doesn't bother you, it should be fine.

We stopped here overnight on the way down to our winter place, and it was a lovely little oasis. We didn't stay long enough to explore the area, and I'm not sure there's much around, but the people were nice and the place was clean, with a restaurant and kitchenettes. A train nearby goes by once in the middle of the night. It only passes briefly, and earplugs muffle it.

Playa Esperanza has a literary touch, with each room named for a great writer and a quote at the entrance. The food is amazing, and it's also a nice place to relax. Surfing works for different levels, with smaller waves near shore for beginners and bigger ones farther out for experienced surfers. I flew from Boston to this beach in Celestino, Mexico, and really enjoyed its warm, rustic feel. I highly recommend Playa Esperanza.

Loved the atmosphere and the food, especially the writer theme, the Hemingway restaurant, and the Libertad Lamarque salmon. And there are lovely cats everywhere.
