The rooftop was a highlight, with a communal plunge pool, great views, a kitchenette and a bathroom. Free bikes were available, and the WiFi, hot shower pressure, toiletries, towels and robes were all good. There was also complimentary coffee and filtered water. My first-floor family room was spacious, with two beds, a kitchenette, desk, bookshelf, couch, long wooden table, large bathroom and hammock. It had a tiny outdoor sitting area behind a sliding door, looking across the street toward the water. The beds were mostly comfortable and the AC worked well. The location near the malecón and food was handy, and the staff were so sweet. The staff really make a place. But I wouldn’t choose the first floor again. Street noise from cars and passersby got loud, especially on Saturday night, and people parked right outside the sliding door. There’s no window for fresh air, and leaving that door open felt unsafe since the little gate didn’t lock and the room was exposed to the sidewalk. The mattress toppers were very old, and the bed frame and headboard were dusty and dirty, though the rest was decently clean. Bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. Traffic was quieter during the day, since most of it uses the other main road. I’d pay for a higher floor next time for a better water view and less street-level exposure, even though those rooms cost more. The stay felt worth the price, and I’d come back. I wish the room had a fan, a full-length mirror and a small bedside lamp. Chetumal doesn’t have a beach. There are a few small ways to reach the water, but it didn’t look clean. The Belize ferry is nearby and commonly used, though how well it runs can depend on the day and weather.

We loved watching the families out at night, and felt very safe. The hotel sits right by the water and nightlife, in a perfect spot. Everyone was friendly, though you really need to speak Spanish. The downside was the hot water never worked in our room. We stopped reporting it after the second day.
We came during carnival and it wasn’t especially noisy. The apartment was comfortable and nice, with a great waterfront spot close to the ferry port for San Pedro. Check-in took some effort, though, since it was hard to reach anyone or get an answer at the door.
The spot by the water was great. Getting a reply from the host was another story, with responses taking about six hours on average. I also never got an answer to my message asking for important checkout information. They charged 30 pesos for extra coffee pods, which struck me as a little odd.
Juanita made me feel welcome right away, waiting at the door when I arrived. She answered my questions and said I could WhatsApp her if I needed anything. The room was clean and roomy, with AC, a fridge, kitchen and a well-equipped bathroom. The bed and pillows were so good I wanted to take them home 😂 The rooftop terrace was lovely, with a view, cute lights at night and a small pool to cool off in. They also lend out bikes with locks. The hotel is right across from the beach and malecón, with a store, lots of restaurants and nightlife within easy walking distance. Street food vendors are only a block away if you’re after local flavor. I’d definitely recommend it and book here again next time I’m in town. 😊
