Hotel Real Azteca

We were there for about a week. The hotel's fairly central, with an easy walk to the mercado and oxxo. Our room looked out over the mercado parking lot, and there's music from the taco stand on the corner until 4 am, if noise bothers you. Google mentions free breakfast, but there isn't any. Rooms are smaller and easier on the budget. Avoid room 7 because of a bad sewer gas problem. Room 20 is good, though it's on the second floor and has a tiny balcony where you can only stand. In the bathroom, the light and mirror are awkwardly placed for shaving, and the sink has poor flow. Hot water takes a while and is sometimes only warm. Wi-Fi in the room can be spotty.

The beds in room 37 were awful, with springs sticking up everywhere. I feel bruised and battered, and I'm exhausted after getting no sleep at all. Buses parked behind the room came and went all night, with reversing alarms waking me. The room was noisy and brightly lit from outside. The good parts were the very friendly staff, a great hot shower, relative cleanliness, and a good location. The price was 425P. It's a nice, safe place to stay, but check the beds before you pay.

One of our rooms had a leak, and the staff seemed indifferent when we raised issues. If you're on a budget and want a king-size bed in the heart of the city, it may work. Otherwise, there are much better places.

Clean, safe, and comfortable, with a healthy environment. The room is basic but has what you need, and they were accommodating. The hot water was a bit lukewarm, but for the price I can't complain.
