Mala Vecindad Beer Hotel

The beds were uncomfortable, and the woman at the front desk wasn’t very supportive. Customer service and professionalism were lacking. The cleaning and room service guys were more helpful and professional. The rooftop was closed, the neighbor was a little dirty, and the area felt unsafe at night.

The bed was comfy with a good mattress, and the shower was hot, which isn’t always easy to find in CDMX. The Metro station is right outside the door, and the staff were very friendly. When I got sick and lost my phone, the hotel manager did everything they could to help me through it. I’ll always be grateful for the kindness and hospitality. Saludos de Alemania 🙋🏻‍♀️

There was no English. There were prostitutes on the block, people drinking beer in the lobby, and a taxi driver. The area felt very dangerous. I didn’t even stay one night. I left at 1 a.m. to find somewhere else.

We had a really bad experience. We arrived with our laptops, planning to work that first afternoon, but even in the sunshine the area felt a bit sketchy. A group that seemed like a “gang” was yelling around at the street entrance. The room was small and cold. We took our laptops to the beer bar that looked so nice in the photos, but neither the bar on the ground floor nor the rooftop one was open. That was the main reason we’d booked the hotel. We also found out there’d be no breakfast because the bar was closed. After about an hour of feeling uncomfortable, we went back to reception, explained the situation, and asked to check out and get a refund. The receptionist gave us the management office’s contact details and we left. We knew from Booking that cancellation and a refund weren’t officially possible, but since so much of what the website promised wasn’t available, we hoped they’d find a solution. We explained everything to the hotel office and heard nothing at first, so we contacted Booking. We then spent about half an hour talking with an agent from the hotel, who didn’t seem very understanding or willing to meet us halfway. Eventually Booking called again and the hotel offered to refund around 15%, which really wasn’t customer oriented. The one good part was the receptionist, who was very nice.
