Hotel Vistas Juventud

The traffic outside made it hard to sleep, especially early in the morning, since the doors let in so much noise. Inside, we had several problems too. Our prepaid booking was for one large bed, but on arrival we were told that room was occupied and given two small beds instead. They asked for a 300-peso cash deposit for possible damage, which felt tacky and like something from a cheap budget hotel. The air conditioner remote had no batteries. I took it to reception and asked politely for it to be brought back to my room after they replaced them, but that never happened. When I went back for it myself, the batteries still hadn't been changed. The hotel has just one iron, and another guest borrowed it and didn't return it. Staff wouldn't help, so I couldn't iron my shirt. There are no phones in the rooms either, so contacting reception means walking there.

After about an hour, they finally gave us a different room. Its TV wasn't connected to Wi-Fi, and another 20 minutes passed before someone came by with the password, saying the Wi-Fi was having problems. This all started when the key to our first room wouldn't work. I went back to the front desk, but they just told me to keep trying and acted as if I was at fault.

I never got my deposit back when I arrived, and the required 300-peso deposit was something I'd never encountered at another hotel. Even with only one person ahead of me, check-in was incredibly slow. This is the worst hotel I've stayed in. I absolutely wouldn't recommend it.

I slept poorly because traffic is so loud with the rooms right by the street, and anyone who wakes easily will struggle. The hallway lights also shine brightly at night, while the blinds don't block enough light. Still, I felt very calm and comfortable in my room, and few hotels are as clean as this one. Those issues are why I gave it four stars instead of five.
