Hotel El Cristo

That garden was a favorite, with plants collected from all over Mexico. The location is hard to beat too, right beside the Great Pyramid of Cholula. We had a fantastic stay.

The kids liked the smart TVs, and we had a good shower, but there was no water at the toilet or sink. The outside area also looked less appealing than it did on the website, though downtown was within walking distance. For $1950, we got two rooms with nothing included, which felt very pricey for the quality.

For what it costs, this hotel feels overpriced. I've stayed in much nicer Mexican hotels for the same money. The rooms are okay but nothing special, and there's very little in the way of services. No restaurant or morning coffee, and a scruffy dog kept hanging around and barking at me several times. Why keep a dog that barks at customers?

The staff were really helpful when we needed laundry, printing, or advice about trips to nearby places. We spent three nights here and loved it. The hotel is close to everything we wanted to see in Cholula, and you can enjoy the view of the Church on top of the pyramid. There's also a huge garden to relax in and a big swimming pool.
