Casa Sócrates By Kukun

I’ve stayed at JKukun several times this past year, and it keeps being my go-to. The rooms work well for longer visits, especially with a good kitchen and a really nice shower. It has that calm, restful feel while still being practical to live in. Easy to recommend if comfort and convenience both matter to you.

The rooms are okay, but the hot water kept being unreliable in the mornings, which was really frustrating. There's nothing worse than not being able to shower before starting the day. It would also help if hotels serving international guests had someone at the desk who speaks English.

The rooftop is decent, and there's a laundromat, but this isn't really a hotel. It's more like studio rooms with kitchenettes, without a restaurant or room service. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though the fridge can be noisy at night. Traffic comes through because the sound insulation is poor, and there's no blackout curtain, which could be an issue if you need darkness to sleep.

I wouldn't choose this for a vacation. The neighborhood has a lively nightlife, and the noise inside is intense: a loud fridge and smoke detectors beeping all night, every night. It's especially bad if your room is on the first floor. The hot water is strange too, and when it does work, it lasts about two minutes.
