Hacienda Real del Carmen

The room was clean and comfortable, though nothing fancy, and the food was delicious. I ordered the fried coconut shrimp, which tasted good, and the service was good too. The pillow needs attention: it had a distinct smell, as if it hadn't been changed. I'm not sure whether the smell was from the pillow itself or the pillowcase.

I especially appreciated the quiet room, big work desk, and comfy bed. The property is beautiful and distinctive, with marble and circular architecture, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was relaxed too. The internet was unreliable, and some basic hotel information wasn't clear. Details about the conference room, breakfast hours, room service, and what breakfast includes would've helped. Those are minor issues for me, and I'll definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

This used to be one of the best in Carmen, but poor maintenance has changed that. There was no hot water, the bathtub drain wouldn't close, and the phone in my room didn't work. When I asked for another room, I was told none of the rooms had hot water. None of the other guests complained.

I really like this hotel and the people working there are great. My regards to the owner. There's a couple of things to improve: the internet works badly and keeps cutting out, and the restaurant needs a nice new coffee maker. The restaurant service got much worse after personnel changes. Please do something about it, as we really like this hotel.
