Hotel Tlayolan

Four years ago we stayed here and had wonderful service and clean rooms. This time, the room had burnt-out lights and we had to call to get them changed. Even then, it was very dim. The floor was dirty, with hair and dirt, and we found roaches. There was no ironing board and no do-not-disturb sign for the door.

The location was the only good part for us. I wasn't expecting luxury for the price, but the double-bed room we stayed in for three nights was depressing: old and smelly, with sheets and pillows that looked like they were from the 90s. We slept without pillows. The receptionists could use a smile.

I won't stay here again. The room was dirty, small, and extremely uncomfortable, and the bathroom wasn't any better. The beds were rock hard, the TV was in a terrible spot and barely worked, and the hallways were confusing. There was no breakfast included, no AC, and the fan barely worked. We had a window onto the wide-open hallway, where people wandered all night. Their shadows kept passing the window, which was creepy. There were no carts for hauling a lot of luggage.

The rooms look like a cheap Motel 6 inside, even though this place costs twice as much as nearby hotels. My toilet was dirty when I got to the room. 😐 It seems they spent more on the lobby than on the rooms. I hear Hotel Reforma is much better, so I'll try it next time I'm in town.
