Hotel Zapotlan

The location is the best thing about this hotel, very convenient and close to many attractions. After that, the stay was awful. We couldn’t sleep at all for three nights in a row because the rooms next to us were extremely loud. The windows don’t close all the way, so we could hear everything. We reported the noise to the front desk and got only a simple apology. Nobody did anything to help us rest. Our toilet wasn’t working properly, and when we asked to switch rooms, we were told it wasn’t possible. We were on the top floor, either the third or fourth, and there’s no elevator, which makes getting around difficult for anyone with mobility issues or heavy luggage. There was no air conditioning in our room either. When I asked to cancel the rest of the stay because of these problems, staff said they don’t give refunds, even in these circumstances. This was by far the worst hotel stay I’ve had. If I could give less than one star, I would. I strongly recommend finding somewhere else. The hotel doesn’t value guest comfort or satisfaction.

The room was dirty when we checked in. The sheets hadn’t been changed, and there was trash on both the floor and the table. Staff at the front door weren’t helpful and didn’t even know where the dedicated parking garage was. It was also noisy until midnight, and there’s no elevator. A terrible experience.

We’d absolutely stay here again. Our room was pretty nice, and my favorite feature was the big, wide French doors opening onto a tiny gated terrace. The little terrace looked over a market street, yet it was peaceful even on the weekend, despite our worry about morning noise. The hotel was very spread out, so we hardly saw anyone else. Staff were really nice, and the secure parking had 24/7 security. There are bars, restaurants, and shops within walking distance. The bathroom was small and had no frills, with its door behind the main room door, but it had everything we needed.

Quiet and clean, a good place to stop over.
