The bathroom needs more attention during cleaning, and the door wouldn’t lock.

We chose this hotel for our wedding in Ciudad Guzmán, and several of our family members, friends, and guests stayed there too. After we told the hotel we were interested, they gave us a preferential rate and some extras for the couple. They lent me a room to get ready with my bridesmaids, and the morning after the wedding they brought a full breakfast to our room. Both were provided very well, and we’re grateful for the service we received. The location made things easy for our out-of-town guests. It’s across from the bus station and close to the highway, so they got there without trouble. The hotel’s facilities are new, and I think it’s the most comfortable hotel in the city in terms of facilities. Rooms are clean and very nice, with comfortable beds, air conditioning, a TV, and other amenities. The breakfast was delicious, and staff were generally friendly. For a wedding or destination party, it’s a great option, especially if you want beautiful photos. There were a few small mix-ups with room assignments and check-in for some of our guests. Communication between the staff handling rooms could be better. They fixed the problems as quickly as possible, and the inconveniences were minor. Since the hotel is new, some confusion is understandable. My husband and I are very happy with our stay.

The reception staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was good. Restaurant service, though, needs work. There were only a few diners, but it still wasn’t very efficient. The waitstaff didn’t check in to take our orders and didn’t bring them on time. My room was comfortable, with a huge bed and a well laid out space. It stayed at a good temperature even without air conditioning, so I didn’t feel it was needed. One thing that did wake me up: if you don’t hang the “Do Not Disturb” sign, staff knock on doors in the morning to check whether rooms are occupied. You can hear it from the hallways.

The hotel is handy at the entrance to the city, and it’s nice to have a chain hotel in the area. But the industrial surroundings aren’t pleasant. The building is supposed to have commercial spaces, which are still unfinished. Another hotel is being built to share the parking lot, and a small movie theater is meant to open soon, though its facade already looks a bit run-down. It’s been operating since February this year, so I was surprised by how many things need attention. The lobby computer for guests didn’t work because someone had unplugged it to use on another device. The plastic coffee cups were already stained, and the elevator was very slow. The walls are thin, too. You hear hallway noise, conversations from neighboring rooms, and their music. Breakfast was generally quite poor, and on the morning a large group of young people arrived, there was practically nothing for guests eating before 9:00 a.m., not even chilaquiles. The artificial juice was pretty bad. Staff were young and polite, but that was about it. It took a long time to send the bill, and I still hadn’t received it after a week. There are quite a few areas they need to improve.
