Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Cd. Juarez - Las Misiones by IHG

The rate shown on the IHG website looked fair for the area, but when I checked in to pay, they told me it was in MXN and used a much higher USD exchange rate than the normal one. The charge to my credit card ended up 9% higher. I've never had this happen while traveling internationally. Maybe next time I'll bring $1000 in cash to get the advertised rate. The attached picture shows the charge for two rooms and the quoted rate for one.

We left another nearby hotel after just one night, even though we'd paid for three, because this one was much better. Lesson learned. Here, the room was modern, spacious, and well equipped, breakfast was good, and the front desk staff were friendly. They also gave us a free ride to the airport. A wonderful stay from beginning to end.

It was easy to get around from here. The U.S. Consulate was about a six-minute walk, and Wendy’s, IHOP, McDonald’s, Starbucks, and Las Misiones shopping center were nearby. The hotel also offered rides between places, free breakfast, laundry facilities, and a gym. It was a bit expensive, but we had a good stay and felt safe. Bertha from cleaning, Liliana/Lidia at reception (sorry if I got your name wrong, and thank you for calling us a taxi), and Hugo from security were especially wonderful. They were friendly and helped us during our stay.

The free breakfast was amazing, and they kept the food stocked so well that even at 9:30 or 10 a.m. there was still plenty. It's mostly the same each day, but I didn't mind. There's fresh coffee in the lobby, and a van to take you to appointments. The staff are all friendly and helpful, and the service is top notch. If you're here for the consulate process, everything is within walking distance too. I always stay at Holiday Inn and usually rush everyone up early so we don't miss the good breakfast before it runs out. That wasn't a worry here. Highly recommend.
