Hotel Mónaco

For a super affordable price, this hotel covers the basics. My room had a clean bed, fluffy clean towels, a clean bathroom, a nice TV, and free breakfast at the hotel restaurant. The shower had strong pressure and got hot right away. The pool area was very nice, and the breakfast was decent. Check-in at 10am is unusual for most hotels. The rooms aren't luxurious or especially attractive, and the dingy carpet and battered old furniture drag them down, but the basics made up for that for me. Four stars for Hotel Monaco.

The beds and pillows were flat, the place was old and smelled bad, and there was hair on my sheets. It's dirty. I know this is Mexico, but there are better hotels.

There was construction noise beside our room. The service wasn't good either: the TV remote they gave me didn't work, and when I went to get another, that one had no batteries. I gave up on the TV altogether.

I wish zero stars were an option. Room 203 was disgusting, with poop left by the previous guest and hair on the bed. They refunded me immediately, and it was obvious this happens often, since there was no customer service, not even an offer of another room.
