Hostal Casa Blanca

Just a street away from the main centro, this beautiful place is close to everything but still quiet and peaceful. Rosa welcomed us so warmly. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere was breathtaking. We'd give it 10 out of 5 if we could.

We spent six weeks at Casa Blanca and felt right at home. It's a quiet, beautiful place where people are very respectful. The house is very clean, with an open kitchen and a huge table where guests can eat, plus an outdoor patio for reading, relaxing, or getting together. We've been traveling from Canada for four months, staying in all kinds of suites and rooms across Europe and Mexico. Casa Blanca was wonderful, with great service from the owner and the two staff members. They were so helpful and accommodating. Cheers to Casa Blanca, Rosa, the owner and manager, and the staff. I wasn't sure about booking a hostel because I'd always thought of them as places for young backpackers. Local friends recommended this one, though, and I'm glad I listened. It's a delightful place for a few days, with a home-like feel and service that stands out. We ran into some unexpected problems, and the owner was gracious and willing to help us sort them out over WhatsApp. She also gave us advice on things to do nearby. The inner courtyard was a lovely spot to get fresh air and relax outside the room. The kitchen was handy for making breakfast or keeping leftovers from dinner. Our room had two full-size beds and a tiny shower. It was perfectly adequate, though the shower was quite dark. There were families upstairs and next door. People were friendly and respectful, and when we went into our room or turned off the lights, everyone seemed to understand it was time to quiet down.

We've stayed here twice and had an excellent experience both times. It's clean, has good hot water, and sits just a couple of blocks from Comala's town square. There's a shared kitchen with a big fridge. The hosts, Rosa and Miguel, are friendly, speak English fluently, and of course speak Spanish as locals. I'd recommend Casa Blanca to a friend, and I did, bringing another family of four with us on our second visit. Mike
