Hotel Comitan

Don Eugenio and his staff are really warm and ready to help with whatever you need. The hotel itself is simple, very clean, and offers good service. Since it's so close to the center, everything is within easy reach. Congratulations, this has become an excellent choice for me!

The staff are friendly, the prices are good, and it's a pleasant place to stay. You're three blocks from Comitán's central park, which makes it a convenient base for exploring the historic center. It's also near the bus terminals for San Cristóbal de las Casas, Tuxtla Gutiérrez, and the surrounding tourist areas.

It's a budget hotel, so I didn't expect too much. Our room was small and the bed a bit hard, and there was a bathroom problem in our room, but they kindly fixed it. The staff were friendly. The hotel isn't right in the center, though it's walkable. It took about 15 minutes to reach either the center or the stations for Montebello and Chifón.

I've stayed here three times and find it pleasant. The beds are my favorite, I sleep incredibly well. It's clean, and has what I need to rest: hot water, cable TV, a fan, towels, soap, and shampoo. Comitan doesn't need air conditioning. The main issue is noise from the hallways reaching the rooms. The hotel is almost always busy, though it usually quiets down by 10 p.m. Parking is available but only fits three cars. A double is 400 pesos and a full room is 500 pesos. It's walkable to the center, with good restaurants and small, lovely cafes nearby. There's an on-site restaurant, but I haven't tried it. Wi-Fi is free and very good.
