Hotel Boutique Casa Zevallos

The rooms are beautiful and nicely updated, and the staff were professional and courteous throughout. Ours was huge and smelled really fresh and clean, which matters a lot to us. The hotel itself is in a lovely historic building with a good restaurant and cheerful people to welcome you. You’re right in the middle of everything, with loads of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Such a find.

We stayed in the Condes de Zevallos room, and we both fell for it. The decor and little details were gorgeous. I felt like an eighteenth-century baron, there with my girlfriend. The food was okay, a bit pricey, while the drinks were superb. There’s no lobby, but the staff worked extra hard to sort out what we needed. The best hotel in Córdoba. Period.

The staff are amazing, and the place really does feel like a dream. It’s a beautiful colonial building, full of history, with modern, luxurious rooms. My one reason for holding back a star is the noise. The hotel sits right on the central square, with rooms on the second floor, so there’s constant sound. If they could insulate the rooms, this could be one of the world’s great hotels.

We loved the enormous suite, especially the copper tub, comfy bed, big bathroom and shower, and all that hot water with great pressure. It also had AC for hot days, a stocked minibar, fast Wi-Fi, and two small balconies looking out at the fountains. The modern decor fits the 1800s building beautifully, like it was done by a designer from CDMX or NYC. There’s a great restaurant, Balcón de Zevallos, just down the corridor. Service was gracious without hovering. We had 10 bags from six months of travel around Mexico, and the staff carried them up the stairs without a fuss, then helped again at 6:30am when we left. There’s no elevator. Gated parking under the hotel fits a few cars, but the clearance is low at 1.79m. Our Jeep just made it. We paid under $100US a night for a room that would cost $600+ US elsewhere in Mexico or in the US. We plan to return to Cordoba for a long weekend, stay here, and have coffee at Hermann Thomas.
