The night watchman was good, at least. Everything else fell short of what they advertise. The photos don’t match what’s there, and the breakfast is just waffles and coffee improvised in the reception area. It’s a long way from the city, behind the last neighborhood. Some cars won’t go there, and getting transportation is a struggle. Once you leave, there’s no way back, so you’re basically stuck. What they offer is a joke compared with what you find when you arrive.

I booked with Wooden Inn in April for an October race, then had to cancel my trip to Creel in July for personal reasons and asked for my money back. It’s October now and I still haven’t received anything. They’ve stopped answering calls and messages, and all my attempts to be patient have been met with silence. I feel like I was robbed. If there’s any chance your trip could be canceled, DO NOT BOOK WITH WOODEN INN. They keep your money and then stop responding.

The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the rooms were in excellent shape, with a lovely view and great amenities. We also felt safe and got excellent service. I’d recommend it 100%.

We paid 5,040 pesos for one night, and I was relieved it was only one. The bubble was patched up and deflating, with tools inside, and you couldn’t properly see the sky, which is part of what you’re paying to experience. There was no dining space for the advertised breakfast, and the breakfast itself wasn’t very good. They also didn’t have a telescope at first; the one they eventually gave us was broken. The service at the start was mediocre, with no empathy and no solution offered until they suggested moving us to a cabin. That wasn’t why I’d traveled from Mérida to Creel. We’d already spent days on the road and stayed in cabins elsewhere, and a cabin wasn’t what we wanted. Still, we had no other choice. The cabin’s internet and TV didn’t work either, so we ended up watching a movie on our phones. They said they’d given me a discount, but doing the math, they’d only removed the tax and refunded the difference between the cabin and bubble prices. I can’t speak for the other bubbles, since I only saw them briefly and they looked okay. The owner told me snowfall had damaged ours and they’d tried to repair it. The snow fell at the beginning of January, and we arrived on February 1st. They could have contacted us, explained what happened, and offered a cabin, which we wouldn’t have accepted, or a refund, which I’d gladly have taken. I understand that nature can cause this kind of damage, but offering this service is unacceptable. I really don’t recommend it.
