The inn is in a great spot, just two blocks from the marina, three from the beach, and across from the downtown square. The owners were friendly and helpful, with clear, easy communication before and during our visit. The staff were the same when we arrived. Our room was clean, the pool was cool, and the restaurant had yummy food and good music. The gate is locked at night, which felt safe. A little piece of heaven. We highly recommend this local inn and will be back.

We were at the Canada Day event for 90 minutes before anyone came to take our prepaid order. I tried to get the waiters’ attention seven or eight times, and they clearly saw me gesturing but didn’t come over. When the ribs finally arrived, they were so salty they couldn’t be eaten. This was the worst service I’ve experienced in Mexico. I wouldn’t recommend going there for any reason.

The inn’s restaurant and rooftop events are great, and on Fridays you can enjoy the Dancing Horses. There’s plenty to see and do right in the center of town, with lots of restaurants and street eateries offering different kinds of food. Look up into the treetops and you might spot iguanas of all sizes, or see one cross your path. Annette and Cirilo are welcoming owners who are glad to help with any concerns. The rooms are bright, airy, and always spotless thanks to Margo, who’s a real workhorse. The young staff are helpful and always greet you with smiles.

Friday dinner at La Cruz Inn is a great experience. The menu has ribs, tacos, burritos, hamburgers, molcajete, and more. The owners are there, the servers are attentive, and it’s worth arriving early to see the dancing horses. On an earlier visit, our group arrived a little after 5 while the sun was still hot. The covered rooftop had a nice breeze and was very comfortable. Service was efficient as ever, and my chicken burrito was generously filled with chicken and cheese, still a favorite of mine. A young woman played old standards on violin. Upstairs is also a great spot for breakfast.

We’ve eaten here several times since getting to La Cruz, and we’re planning to have dinner there again tonight. The portions are generous and the food is delicious, so there’s plenty to share and still room for the yummy dessert. I love the atmosphere at the restaurant and Inn. Annette, the owner, has been a big help as we find our way around a new life and place. The classic margaritas have just the right balance of flavors and ingredients. This will be one of our regular spots!
