Gamma Cuernavaca Puerta Paraiso

The pool is large and great for kids on vacation, and the staff were really friendly and attentive, especially when bringing drinks out there. The restaurant food is a little overpriced and pretty bland. For what you pay, the service is okay, but nothing special. The rooms could use a refresh too, the interior feels a bit depressing.

Our basic room was spotless and even had a terace where we could sit outside. The hotel is lovely, especially the amazing pool. Staff were easy to communicate with in Spanish or English. It's quite far from the city center, but there are usually plenty of taxis for getting to and from the hotel.

The room itself was nice, and the hotel was okay, but the way the staff handled my reservation left me feeling cheated and lied to. I had upgraded to a luxury king size room because I was going to a wedding, instead of booking a regular room elsewhere. At check-in I saw a different room number and asked what was wrong. They told me it was just an internal change, but the bellboy took me to the cheaper room I hadn't wanted, with two beds rather than the Luxury king size room I'd reserved. At reception they first insisted I was mistaken and had booked that room. After I spent half an hour showing them my reservation with the correct room, they said their system had gone down and my room had been reassigned. They claimed there was no space and nothing they could do, with no real effort to help. I'm very disappointed in the customer service, or lack of it. I paid extra for the upgrade and got the room I specifically hadn't wanted. Being treated like I was lying made the whole experience worse.
