The breakfast buffet had lots of choices and everything tasted good, so it was worth having. On the days with group events, though, the other buffet had fewer choices and the food wasn't as good as on days without groups. Staff were welcoming and helpful, and service stayed pretty good despite the events. We liked the Japanese restaurant's sushi, and some of the wines we tried there were good. The evening menu is very Japanese, which works if you want that every night. We went into Cuernavaca for tacos on a few evenings to get some variety. The poolside snack bar nachos were an 8/10, and its Piña colada was very good. The grounds are lush and beautiful, with pools of water, some containing koi fish. The hotel's Japanese theme feels lovely by day and cozy at night. We enjoyed the pool, gym, and spa; the massage was relaxing, though the spa could offer more features and a better steam room. Our clean, stylish room had a small patio overlooking the greenery, and we couldn't hear our neighbours. There are ants indoors, as in almost every part of Mexico, so don't leave food out. Shower pressure and temperature were perfect.

We had such a good time and can't wait to come back. The tropical setting was beautiful, and the team made us feel really special. Sunrise coffee and sunset cocktails were both part of a lovely stay that mixed business and fun, with plenty of luxury and laughter. Highly recommend this place! 🌺🌺

The green spaces are what make Sumiya special, and the food is good too. Sunday lunch buffet was exceptional. Renovations are still underway, so I imagine the place will get even better.

I enjoyed my stay at Grand fiesta. The property has a nice Japanese theme, and the service was amazing.

The worst part was that my wife's bag was stolen while we were eating at the hotel restaurant. We reported it right away, but got blank looks and a shrug. There were no cameras or staff watching, and nobody offered support or took responsibility. The room was dirty too, with hair in the shower, stained sheets, and a lingering mold smell. Housekeeping didn't seem to matter here. Most staff came across as cold, like doing their jobs was an inconvenience, and they ignored requests. I don't expect five-star treatment from a budget or mid-range hotel, but basic safety, cleanliness, and courtesy should be there. This place failed on all three. Avoid it if you're not willing to risk your belongings and patience. One star only because I can't give zero.
