Posada Quetzalin

It’s very peaceful, and I felt safe walking around at any hour. The town looks lovely from here. The bus station is about a seven-minute walk away, while the main square takes around 10-15 minutes on foot. Coming back from the square means tackling one steep street. There’s no air conditioning.

The people here were lovely and helped us arrange laundry and transport, which made for a really pleasant stay. I had a great time. Lots of services were available if we asked right away, and they could adjust or upgrade things on the day. I’d recommend it if you’re after a cozy place. Thanks so much!

The family running this hotel were kind and patient while I tried to get by with my limited Spanish. They also helped me find a mechanic when my car needed service, accommodated my vegetarian diet, and I had no trouble working on the Wi-Fi. I spent a week here, and Cuetzalan is beautiful. You can walk to most of the city center in about 10-30 minutes. There are parking spots out front if you’re willing to drive. Take it slowly, be very careful in the rain, and don’t push up a hill if the car can’t make it, since there are usually other routes. My room was simple but had nice details, like a brick bathroom and exposed wood beam, plus a decent bed. The building stays comfortable in different weather because it’s well insulated, though there’s no heating or cooling. Hot water runs out quickly, but if you turn it off and wait a few minutes, there’s more. That meant shorter or interrupted showers, but with the price, service, location, on-site restaurant, and room, it felt worth it. Breakfast, coffee, pastries, and fruit are offered, and the place is pet friendly, which was a real plus for me. The views are beautiful, too.

We really enjoyed our three nights here. The room was spacious, spotless, and had a comfortable bed, with a fantastic view of a church and incredibly green vegetation. Breakfast and the service were both wonderful. It’s also easy to walk to the city center, zocalo, the flying men (voladores), and restaurants.
