Hotel CasaMia

Our family group of 11 came from Mexico, Italy, Singapore, and Brazil, and we loved staying here. The central location made it easy to get around the city, and the Mexican style of the hotel was perfect for beautiful photos. The staff kept everything very clean and were helpful from start to finish, making us feel at home even though we were far from our own countries. It’s a peaceful place in Dolores Hidalgo, and I’d recommend it.

The location was peaceful but only two blocks from the central jardín and the famous church. Zona V in the public market is three blocks away, with healthy food, salads, and vegetarian choices. When I stayed in late November 2014, the rooms were large and clean, the wifi was good, and the courtyard was beautiful. The staff were welcoming and quick to help with questions or problems. I traveled around Mexico by bicycle on a budget and had stayed in nearly 90 hotels of all kinds. I don’t remember the exact rate, but it was around US $30 a night, perhaps a little less, not much more. Nights here can get very cold, especially in winter, since the area is highland and arid. There’s no heat in the rooms, which I don’t hold against CasaMia because that’s normal in this part of Mexico. They gladly gave me a heavy blanket when I asked, and I slept here for two nights without a problem. I’d strongly recommend this hotel.

The courtyard is magical, and the place has a lovely old-world feel, great service, and a very good location. I wish we could have stayed more than one night.

We stayed here a few nights ago and had a great time. The courtyard in the middle is lovely, the rooms are nice, and the location is terrific, just a block from the main plaza. Good value too.
