A good little spot for a night or two in lovely El Fuerte. The location is handy, just a few blocks from the main square and market, and the owner is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are rustic and basic, just enough space for one or two people and their bags. Some have a small fridge. The bed was comfortable, though it could have been a little cleaner.

We liked our stop here on the way to Creel enough to stay another night on the return trip. Don was great, even cleaning our car while we were out. The rooms are small, but the hospitality is excellent and it's good value in town. He also gives guests a free ride to and from the train station, 8 km away, for the El Chepe trip into Copper Canyon.

We had a clean, comfortable room and great service for our overnight stop before catching El Chepe in the morning. For the price, it's hard to beat. They even had a car ready to take us to the train.

The hosts were very welcoming, and our room was really clean. They also provide a free ride to and from the train station, which is 10 km from the city center.

A private, one-of-a-kind place with no crowds. Close to the market and El Chepe.
