Hotel Tayha

The river is beautiful and the pool is nice, but the whole visit was disappointing. We waited about an hour for food at the on-site restaurant, even though we were just a table of two. The burger was so oversalted that it seemed the salt meant for the fries had gone into the patty instead. We arrived at 1:00 pm, two hours before the 3:00 PM check-in, and were fine with waiting while we looked around and took selfies by the river. But when we returned at 3:00 pm, we couldn't get into our room until 4:00PM because it was still dirty from the previous customer. Guests who arrived after us got rooms first. We did eventually get one, but I wouldn't come back. There are better places on the river, and this place could use new management.

We paid around $85 Dollars for the night, and the rooms were very clean and updated. The price seemed good compared with other places, and the service was friendly. The roads are a little rough but manageable. It's quiet and right next to the river, and there's a restaurant on site, which is convenient. The waterfalls are a 20 to 30 minute drive away. I didn't mind the drive and would rather stay here in comfort. I'll be back on my next vacation.

The river runs right by the property, so you can take a swim morning or evening. The hot showers were nice, and while the wifi was intermittent, it worked well enough during our stays. We had a car, so the roughly 15 minuet walk to town wasn't a problem. There aren't any restaurants nearby. We only planned one night, then returned for a second because we didn't want to leave. Both rooms we used were spacious and modern, with huge beds, which felt like a step up from the basic hotels Mexico often has at this price. I'd absolutely stay again and recommend it to international travellers visiting the area.
