Topia Retreat - Surf Suite Sur

I went to Topia in December 2025 for a yoga retreat run by my coach, and I’m already eager to return. Being there brought an immediate sense of peace, and I felt the stress start to melt away as soon as I arrived. I may have even cried a little from the relief. The team is so friendly, the hospitality feels thoughtful, and the local businesses I met were welcoming too. Every part of the place seems set up to help you unwind. Carolina, the family dog, has such a calming presence. I’m allergic to dogs, but I could pet her without a reaction. There’s a lot to enjoy around the property: relaxing by the pool, watching for whales while you read, or spending time at the hot tub, studio, fire pits, hammocks, reading area, or outdoor dining space. There’s also an honor bar and a boutique, which felt cozy, relaxing, energizing, and safe. A walkable beach is just off the property, but it isn’t for swimming. The grounds are locked and secure, and I felt safe there. There are different sleeping areas to choose from, though you should know there are stairs to get on and off the property and between some areas. If stairs are difficult for you, keep that in mind. It’s an eco-friendly place, and the community works hard to keep the land clean. I’d suggest reading about how they handle waste, recycling, and composting, especially if you don’t usually do those things at home. The meals were a real highlight. The cooking staff deserves a lot of credit, the flavors had me asking how they made things at every meal. Food is healthy, delicious, and made with fresh ingredients from the garden. If you let the staff know your dietary needs ahead of time, they’ll do their best to accommodate them. Nobody goes hungry. Activities depend on your retreat host or group. We got massages, surfed at Los Cerritos Beach where swimming is safe, visited the local pet shelter, went into town in Todos Santos, and stopped at a small local coffee shop. I appreciate everything Topia offers and can’t wait to come back.

Topia has a special place in my heart. I’m so grateful to the team for creating such a grounding, kind space, and the whole experience felt healing and restorative. Shelly, Chris, Karen, and everyone else were warm and welcoming, including little Carolina and Tope. The food was both delicious and nourishing, and the ocean view was beautiful. In five days I saw more whales than I would’ve thought possible, while the powerful, soothing waves lulled me to sleep. ❤️🌞🌴🌊

We’ve already booked our next retreat at Topia for 2027, which says a lot about how much we enjoyed hosting there. Our guests loved the beauty of the property and its surroundings, and the food was delicious. The kitchen team handled a wide range of very specific dietary needs so well that nobody missed a meal or had to settle for something that wasn’t tasty. Karen was patient and kind every day, and thanks to Chelle and Kris for creating this place. From the first booking and travel planning through the week onsite, everyone was organized, thoughtful, and accommodating. It made for a wonderful yoga retreat. Thank you, Topia!

We’ve hosted two retreats at Topia, and each time I’m reminded how much the place works for hosts as well as guests. The team stays organized and responsive, so I can focus on being present with my group. They’re a real partner throughout, from the early planning and coordination to the time onsite. We enjoyed long, delicious meals, watched whales from the pool and library, and came back glowing from our outings. The Las Palmas cliff hike is well worth doing. For retreat leaders who want a place that supports both them and their guests, Topia is something special.
