Costa Ensenada

The room was a decent size, and I liked having a little yard off it, though you need a first-floor room for that. The upper floors have small balconies instead. We checked in late after booking at the last minute, and it was the cheapest option for four people that night. The front desk staff were nice. The hotel is three stories with an elevator, and the parking is underneath. It felt safe and was within walking distance of everything in downtown ensrnada. We mostly just slept there, and I can’t comment on the views from the other floors. Still, it was a nice stay and I’d definitely come back.

Omar at reception was wonderful. He was pleasant, helpful, and went out of his way to answer questions for my husband and me. The room wasn’t as pretty as I’d expected, which is why I’m giving it four stars, but it was clean and had no bad odors. The carpet was clean, there were no bugs, the bed was comfortable, and we had extra blankets and hot water. It’s a good place for a family, and I’d like to return with my children.

We had a terrible two-night stay, and I would never stay here again. The place seemed to be falling apart, from the few parking spots to the rooms and the gross pool. Our room had mold and smelled like urine. Staff didn’t seem willing to help and came across as unhappy. For the condition of the rooms, it was also very overpriced.

The underground parking is very limited. It was completely full one night, so I had to leave my car around the block, and make sure your car is small enough to fit. I liked how close the hotel is to downtown, and the price seemed reasonable for when we went, during the annual beerfest. I also liked that, if you’re traveling in Mexico and need an invoice for the IRS, you can get one here. There’s a pool that looked very clean, but it was too cold for me to try. Overall, I liked the place.
