Finca Selah

The buffet wasn’t available while we were there, though outside vendors could deliver food, and their menus were at the lobby reception. Even so, we had a wonderful stay and would come back. The cabins are beautiful and clean, with Wi-Fi, a TV, and plenty of hot water. The place has a historic feel and lovely views, and the pool was warm. The staff were so attentive and did a lot to make our stay work. I’m especially grateful to America, Denise, and the bartender. America helped arrange a dinner, mariachi, and danza for my mother’s 70th birthday. It was a beautiful celebration. Thank you, team Selah!

Without a car, the location isn’t ideal since it’s not quite central and you need a way to get around. We had a car, though, and the location worked well. The beds were super comfortable, and the staff were great. I was especially impressed by how helpful everyone was. I came with a friend last weekend, and my Spanish isn’t very good, but we managed with my gringa Spanish. When I felt sick and wanted medicine, the front desk staff member went to her own room and offered me some from her personal cabinet. They also answered our questions about the area and helped us get taxis for local trips.

We loved the cabin, and the place itself is really nice. The issue is the $55 hold on my credit card. They said it would be released as soon as the woman checked the cabin, but it’s been four days and it still hasn’t been sorted out. Management hasn’t responded.

The restaurant was closed when we arrived around 3 PM and stayed closed the next day, despite supposedly being available. Our room was also nothing like the photos online: no TV or table, just a bed and a nightstand. When we raised it at the front desk, they said we’d need to pay more for an upgrade to get the kind of room shown in the pictures. I felt uncomfortable in the room and didn’t even take photos. The whole experience felt misleading, and the extra cost didn’t seem worth it. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
