My colleague ended up in a room that smelled musty and had no air conditioning, while my room faced a transport company’s parking lot, where trucks started up at 4 in the morning. I can put up with that kind of noise, but the way the reservation problem was handled was the issue. They didn’t honor our booking and offered a room with two single beds to make up for the room without AC. I refused, then accepted that room for my colleague so we wouldn’t have to move, and they asked me to pay for it. The receptionist laughed while this was going on. If the mistake is yours, sort it out without charging me, and return the money once you’ve checked what happened.

No fitness center, and even the keycards are a struggle to get working. The hotel is old and in a bad location, so I’d keep it at the very bottom of my list for emergencies only.

This place isn’t suitable if you need an overnight stop between flights. It’s beside a highway, with no restaurants nearby despite Expedia saying there are some within four minutes. The listing also misrepresents the location and services: there’s no shuttle to or from the airport, and the front office doesn’t answer calls.

The price was good, but I’m not sure the stay was worth it. The rooms are old and tiny, and the hotel is in an industrial area on Guadalajara's loop, around 15 minutes from the airport. Check-in was meant to be at 3, but although I arrived at 2:30, I didn’t get a room until nearly 4. The AC was out, so there was only a fan and no cooling, with the outdoor temperature at 33C. I was leaving early the next morning and didn’t ask to change rooms. The reception area was packed with people waiting, and the staff seemed to be having a hard time.
