The roof terrace has a small pool and nice views, though the iron furniture isn't comfortable. The building and inner courtyard look beautiful, but the neighborhood brings noise and bad smells, and I didn't feel the area was very good. I think you'll need Uber in the evening or at night. There's a backpackers hostel across the street that looked closed and empty, though I'm not sure. I stayed in Monica. It was reasonably clean but poorly maintained, with broken and dirty curtains, old towels, a hole in the ceiling, and broken bathroom hooks. It felt like the owner wasn't interested in upkeep. The co-host communicated really well. There was no air conditioning, just a small window, and I don't know whether there's heating. I'm not sure if all the apartments are similar.

The building is beautiful, the renovation was done well, and the apartment was nicely decorated. I've seen photos of other apartments there that looked beautiful too. But the AC didn't work, and nobody seemed willing to fix it, even though the remodel was recent. Street noise was also pretty bad, with what felt like every bus in Guadalajara going by in the morning. Maybe working AC would have covered some of that noise. We did get a refund.

I wouldn't recommend this place. Street noise is constant, with buses passing day and night, even at 3am on Sunday. There may be a bus stop right outside the windows, and men stand just outside them, so opening the windows at any time of day doesn't feel appealing. In the upstairs unit, a damaged window gasket lets in even more noise. Two women from Tijuana staying in another room on a different street also said the noise was a big problem. In my suite, the bed's backboard wasn't attached to the wall. Leave a bit of space and it can push the bed out, fall onto it, and injure you. The listing said toiletries were provided, but there was no shampoo or anything else in the bathroom. The downstairs toilet tank was dirty and made the bowl water look yellow or full of black gunk. The shower drain cover wasn't secured either, so your feet can push it aside and you could hurt yourself in the deep concrete hole.

The accommodation is nice and well located, but sleeping was difficult. The bedroom window opens onto a courtyard and doesn't shut fully, and residents downstairs sit out there chatting for half the night. It would be great if they showed a little consideration.

I stayed in the apartment called 'Carlota'. Each apartment is named after a woman and has its own lovely decor. The place feels like a small hacienda tucked away, even though it's in zona centro. It can get a little noisy, but nothing too bad. There's a rooftop with a dipping pool and tables and chairs where you can sit and take in the view.
