A spacious, clean room and comfortable beds made our two-night stay just right. This charming, old-world little place is in a fabulous location, and there’s an on-site cafe with great espresso.

The room was beautiful, and the beds were the most comfortable I’ve slept in in Mexico. I’m used to firmer beds there, so I really appreciated that. The whole place has a relaxing, almost spa-like feel, with a faint scent from the lavender and rosemary growing around the courtyards. The courtyard coffee shop is a lovely place to sit, with great coffee and breakfast. Staff were welcoming and helpful, the room was comfortable, and the area felt very safe. There are lots of good coffee, taco, brunch, and other food spots nearby. I can’t wait to visit again. From now on, I’ll stay at Casa Bosque Eduviges whenever I’m in Guadalajara.

Our personal information was leaked to a criminal organization, which held us in our room and extorted us during our stay. Being trapped there and afraid for our lives was a nightmare, and no traveler should have to experience that. This was a serious breach of privacy and a major safety threat. The hotel showed no regard for guest safety. Whether through negligence or something worse, they allowed this to happen. I would give zero stars if I could. Avoid this hotel at all costs. Staying here felt life-threatening, and authorities should investigate it immediately. Do not risk your safety.

The hotel’s exterior is pretty and the staff were pleasant, but cleanliness and basic room details let the stay down badly. There may be potential here, but the lack of care made it uncomfortable, and I’d avoid it until these problems are fixed. In the bathroom, the shower and room had no ventilation and smelled of urine. The bathroom was rusty, dirty, and crumbling, with no hooks outside the shower for towels. There was no proper hand soap or body wash, and the room itself had no mirror, only one in the bathroom. There was just one body towel for two guests. We also found hairs from previous occupants on surfaces, including several on the shower floor. The complimentary water bottle was already open and half-drunk when we arrived, and there was a patch of dried liquid on the bedside table, as if it hadn’t been cleaned after the previous guest. Those were early signs that the room hadn’t been properly cleaned or serviced.
