We had a nice time on the rooftop, and both the guests and staff were great. The neighborhood is lovely, close to everything but away from the bustle. I really liked the location, the common area, and the kitchen. The stove flame was pretty weak haha, but you can still cook if you're patient. The second-floor bathroom layout was a bit odd. It was clean!

For the price, the hostel is okay. The rooms were good, and the place was clean and well located. The receptionists were nice, though they weren't very helpful with advice about tours I planned myself, since they wanted me to book through them instead. Breakfast was quite limited: bread, jam, cajeta, and oats, as shown in the photos.

The staff were excellent, and the hostel is cheap with a great location. I slept comfortably on the bed and pillows, and the kitchen and showers were very good. One small downside: the window in our double room was very old and let noise through. The street isn't very loud, though, so you should be fine unless you're a very light sleeper like my partner 😉

I had problems during my stay a couple of months ago, mainly with men twice pretending to walk into the shower while I was in it and while I was changing. I hadn't planned to come back, but tonight I stopped here after leaving a nearby hostel over safety problems, including serious issues I found when checking in. The older man at the front desk, whom I don't remember from last time, quoted me 250 MXN for a cheap dorm, much more than the Hostelworld price. He asked for my passport and started checking me in before telling me the price, as if I would just pay. When I asked, he refused to match the online rate. Last time, they had at least matched it, which also saved them the fee Hostel World takes when I pay in cash. I couldn't book online because Hostel World already thought I had a reservation at the hostel I'd just left. They lost a customer because of rudeness and stupidity. I would have booked five nights total if the first one had gone well, but I wasn't going to pay a lot extra for a place where I'd already had problems. Luckily, my money will go to a much better place with more professional staff :)
