Hotel Emperador

The rooms have air conditioning, and the hotel looks good, with friendly staff and affordable rates that make it good value. Still, the location isn’t ideal. The area is known to be dangerous, the streets are often full of rubbish, and the rooms could have been cleaner.

I like this hotel a lot. The prices are reasonable and it’s quiet at night, though cleaning makes it a bit noisy from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Most of the staff don’t speak English, but they did their best to help me. There are buses to the airport near the hotel, and a Mibici parking lot near Walmart. I’ll stay here again when I travel to Guadalajara.

For one night, it was super convenient to the old bus station after a late arrival. The bed was huge and moderately soft, the room was clean, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. There was A/C too. The downsides: the place smelled of cigarette smoke everywhere, with perfume sprayed over it. The hallway lights worked on motion sensors and kept going on and off through the night. It’s a noisy spot because the neighborhood is busy around the clock and the bus station is nearby.

The rooms are clean and simple, with updates, and it’s good value. The lot fills up, but everyone manages to squeeze in. Centro isn’t too far away.
