Hotel Latino

I paid 600 pesos and couldn’t even take a shower. There was water the night before, but by morning there was none at all: no shower or sink, and the toilet wouldn’t flush. The place looked nice, though it seemed they’d put a lot of effort into making it look that way. Cleaning was a bit lax, with hairs on the floor and in the sink. There was also exposed electrical wiring. It was high enough that children wouldn’t touch it, but it still didn’t feel safe.

I stayed for over a month and found the hotel good overall, though I ran into a couple of recurring issues. The room cards often stopped working and needed recharging or replacement. Wi-Fi in the room was great at first, but that channel stopped working. The other hotel channel I could use was very unreliable.

The hotel is a small branch of San Francisio Hotel, with very friendly staff and housekeepers. It’s close enough to the major attractions and was cheap, about $300 CDN for seven nights. The area itself felt less friendly. My friend was walking down the street watching a stupid video on his phone when two men on a motorcycle rode by and snatched it from his hand. That wasn’t the smartest thing to do while visiting, and it wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but keep an eye on your surroundings.

We had a really enjoyable stay and will book here again. The staff were very friendly, the rooms suited the price, and we liked being close to the Centro.
