Hotel Madrid

I nearly booked this hotel online, but there weren’t any reviews yet, so I checked here first. I’m glad I did. From what I read, the place sounds disgusting, and the owner’s responses were the worst part. They seem to think an affordable price means guests should accept dirty sheets, cockroaches, and rude staff. Budget travelers don’t expect a mansion, just a clean room and friendly service, which shouldn’t cost much to provide. The owner is lucky I didn’t book. If you refused to return my money, I’d have made sure the hotel went viral on social media and canceled. Stop calling customers liars or accusing them of stealing your dirty towels. Nobody believes you.

The hotel is cheap and close to the local old bus station, for what that’s worth. Staff were very nice when I checked in, but the evening woman was rude to me on two nights while I sat in the lobby using Wi-Fi. I had to be there because the connection wasn’t available in my room, which was especially frustrating since I rely heavily on Wi-Fi when I travel.

It was the worst experience I can imagine. The staff created more problems instead of fixing them, and the neighborhood felt very unsafe. If you want to enjoy your time in the city, stay somewhere else.
