Hotel Real Maestranza

There’s lots of artwork around, and the rooms are comfortable and very modern. The hotel looks new but still has plenty of old charm. Front desk and concierge were a great help. Great hotel.

The breakfast buffet was filling and cost 200 pesos, and there was 24-hour room service with a full kitchen. We stayed three nights over Christmas, and check-in went smoothly even though we booked through a third party. The lobby art made the place feel warm, unlike a chain hotel. Our room was cleaned every day, and after the first night the staff noticed we were three people and left us an extra towel each day. The streets right outside look a little run-down, as much of the centro area does, but we felt safe and had lots of nearby options. A good choice if you're looking for a hotel in the centro area.

The room itself was decent, but the location didn't feel very safe to walk around, either at night or even during the day. I paid $88 for the first night and was told the second night would cost less if I stayed. When I went back to book the same room, they quoted me $129. It felt like a scam.

We found the rooms spotless and comfortable, and it was easy to unwind there after a day out exploring. The restaurant stays open 24/7, which was handy for breakfast, a late dinner, or a quick snack, and everything we tried tasted fresh and delicious. From the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly and professional, and made an effort to keep us comfortable. I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Real Maestranza and would highly recommend it when visiting Guadalajara. The location was perfect, too.
