Hotel Santa Irene

Road noise can be outrageous, with sirens and truck engine braking at all hours, and there’s very limited AC in hot weather. Still, I like the place and stay here when I work in Guadalajara. It’s clean, the people are friendly, and the restaurant is decent, with a very good breakfast buffet. There’s also a taxi on hand to take you anywhere for a low cost. The driver is a great guy.

The staff were really nice and made our one-day stay pleasant, and the amenities were very good. The price also matched what we’d been quoted online and by phone. Shout out to the receptionist who helped us book the room. If we visit Guadalajara again, we’ll definitely stay here.

The staff were very friendly and did their best to find me another room, but the mold smell wasn’t limited to the rooms. It was throughout the facility. In less than five minutes in my room, my allergies had flared up. There was water damage in the bathroom and burns on the comforters. The room looked clean on the surface, but everything else was not.

The restaurant was good, and parking was pretty easy, though getting in and out from the highway wasn’t easy, like at most places in Guadalajara. There are no ice machines. The rooms and bathroom felt a little small for two people. Everything was clean and neat, just not very pleasing to the eye.
