Casa de Colores

The shared kitchen was well equipped, and the rooftop view is lovely. Our host was quick to reply on WhatsApp and even let us check in early. Communication was easy, and when we asked for a hairdryer at night, it was sorted out quickly. Highly recommend Casa de Colores if you’re visiting Guanajuato, 10/10!

The quiet, respectful guests and the kitchen you can cook in made this a nice place to stay. It’s in a traditional style building, with all the rooms looking onto a covered courtyard, and there’s a lovely rooftop terrace too. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was nice, though there didn’t seem to be hot water in the morning. There was plenty at night. It’s around a pleasant 15-20 minute walk from the centre. Guanajuato has lots of steep stairs, though, and Google Maps may send you along a steeper route than needed, so check the incline. The staff were lovely. I’m pretty sure they only speak Spanish, but Google Translate helps. Highly recommend.

Even though it’s close to the city center, Casa de Colores feels peaceful, tucked into the hills of Guanajuato. The apartment had what I needed for cooking and storage, as well as a cozy, comfortable bed. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, and staff were always available if I needed help. I didn’t meet Mary in person, but her attention to detail showed throughout my stay. It felt like home, and I’d highly recommend this hidden gem in Guanajuato.

We got a studio with an incredible view, and the terrace has an outstanding one too. The host was very welcoming, helpful, and took care of everything we needed. The location may seem hard to reach at first, but you get used to it, and there’s a nice 15-minute walk to the city center. The place is cozy and decorated in a distinctive way.
