Last Sunday morning, Nov 7, 2021, I stopped in after seeing the sign on the hostel door. A gentleman warmly welcomed me and sent me all the way upstairs to the rooftop terrace, where a nice lady let me pick a seat on the empty terrace. It was relaxing, with a great view and very pleasant weather. I enjoyed coffee and a great breakfast of scrambled eggs with ham, beans, papaya, and bread, while Mexican music by Ana Gabriel, Marisela and Shakira played in the background. I wondered why there weren't more people there. I asked if breakfast was served every day because I'd like to come back, and was told it's only on weekends. I'm planning to return before I leave Guanajuato!

They let us leave some things after check-out and welcomed our dogs without charging extra. We had a private room next to the terrace, which has a great view, and the hostel is very well located. Very obliging!

The central location is the only good thing about this hostel. It was very dirty, with just two bathrooms that were also filthy. The bins were emptied only once a day, so the urine and poop smell was horrendous. Breakfast was below average and wasn't really continental, with fruit that was either unripe or off. The staff were nice, but mostly kids. I think the owner had been away and the place had gotten run down. It improved a bit when she came back on our last day and they bought eggs for breakfast. I don't understand the good reviews.

The room was basic, and the bed was uncomfortable, with the springs pretty much digging into our backs. Bars nearby kept things really noisy late into the night. The ground floor is a shop during the day. You're close to everything in town, though it's not a big place.

The location was great, but the mattress was VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. I could feel every spring, which is ridiculous. There was no hot water in the shower, and loud music from a bar right below the window made it hard to sleep. Nobody was at reception.
