Hotel Suites Corazon Mexicano

Our group of eight had a huge problem at our first hotel, another place in their chain near central. It was nothing like we had been told, but Corazón Mexicano stepped in quickly and moved us to their hotel. The rooms were excellent, the service was excellent, and they kept the same room rates. We weren't near Centro, which was the one small downside, but everything worked out wonderfully. We'd stay there again.

The price, service, and distance to downtown suited me, and the free breakfast was good, though simple. I stayed here as a couple and ran into two issues: finding the hotel and the parking situation. I drove around and couldn't locate it. If you're arriving by car, call the front desk ahead with your arrival time so they can pick you up at San Javier Plaza. There's a shuttle from there to the hotel. Teatro Juárez is about a 10-minute walk, so bring comfortable walking shoes.

There was no hot water during either of our two nights, so we couldn't take a warm shower. My room was on the first floor and had no window, meaning no daylight or fresh air. When I complained, they said that room type depended on availability, and the receptionist was quite rude when I pointed out the problem. I chose this place because I needed a hotel with parking, but its advertised “parking lot” is just a small public mall lot. I'm still wondering what makes it “boutique.” I would avoid it.

There was plenty of closet space, plus a kitchen with a microwave, refrigerator, and sink. The large setup combined three rooms and had a balcony overlooking a backyard. On the downside, the bath drains gave off an odor in the morning, the A/C didn't work, and there was no bathroom ventilation fan. Some of the front desk staff were surly.
