It was very quiet, and the staff were great when we arrived a bit early. The rooms are big, with air con, a fan, mini fridge, and coffee machine. There's secure parking for a motorbike very close to the room. The restaurant apparently does a great breakfast. Really enjoyed this hotel.

The villa has a nice location and a cozy, laid back feel. The beds were quite comfortable, though the pillows felt flimsy to me. WiFi was pretty decent, the air conditioning was normal, and there was reliably hot water, which I loved since not many places in Mexico have that. Just a good hotel villa.

We recommend Celestun for its uncrowded, beautiful beaches and peaceful feel. We spent a night in the quiet fishing village and ended up really liking it. The first drive felt a bit strange since we weren't used to the scenery: potholes, buildings that looked poor and half built, and lots of dogs on the street. Then we turned a corner and found Villa Gabriela, a beautiful, authentic property. It was a 10 minute walk to the lovely beaches, and by then the village felt nice. We weren't afraid or in any danger at all. The rooms had everything we needed, and there was a bench outside each one where we could sit in the evening, admire the property, and have a beer or two. The host was friendly and helpful. There's also a restaurant on site, so breakfast was just a few meters from our room. It was reasonably priced, about 120 pesos per person for coffee and a main dish, I think.

The town itself wasn't our best choice, but if you do come, stay here and you'll be pleased. The staff were professional, helpful, and nice, and the service was great. Breakfasts were the best part: plentiful, good quality, and very affordable. We tried baguettes, hotcakes, heuvos, and chilaquiles, all very good. The garden was lovely, and we had a bonfire both nights. Rooms were very clean, the shower was hot, the beds were okay, and the sheets were nice. The free bicycles were in good condition.

A calm, pleasant place, about five minutes from the beach and ten from the center. Keep in mind that walking in this kind of heat can be tough. They have their own breakfast spot, with cheap, tasty food. The host was kind and stayed in touch, answering all our questions. Everything worked well, including internet, air conditioning, and hot and cold water. Definitely recommend!
