Karla, the manager, was fantastic: helpful, considerate, and patient with my limited Spanish. I’d definitely come back, and it seems like a good place for a group traveling together. The place was lovely, low-key, and spotless, with a beautiful room that worked fine for one person. I had it to myself. The only thing I wasn’t quite happy with was having nowhere good to park my motorcycle off the street, though there were no problems. It was surprisingly quiet at night and in the morning despite being in the middle of the city, except for the night my friend and I played music and drank chellas until 4 a.m. We were the only guests, and hopefully didn’t bother the neighbors too much.

Karla is a perfect hostess, and I’m hoping to return soon. As a woman traveling solo, I found this a lovely place to stay: spotless, quiet, and safe, with a great spot in Xalapa Downtown. It’s a relaxing option for foreign travelers.

You get your own key at this self-catering hotel, so you can come and go without passing through reception. There’s also a shared kitchen and refrigerator. The rooms are a good size, and I loved the old-fashioned decor. Highly recommended.

No TVs in the rooms, but there is a little kitchenette for simple meals and a boutique shop. The place has a traditional feel and a central location, with simple, clean rooms and the comforts you need for a pleasant stay. Prices are affordable, and the service is excellent. Whether you're visiting solo, as a couple, or with family, it makes for a delightful stay in the beautiful capital. Highly recommended.
