The staff were very friendly and willing to help, even though we spoke only a little Spanish. Parking in the daytime can be tricky, and the entrance to it is very narrow. There are no ramps for heavy bags or wheelchair access. It's a beautiful hotel in Downtown Xalapa, with great architecture that gives you a feeling of old Mexico. The price is reasonable, and it was clean and well located. Breakfast was fresh, though not especially good. Our room ran a little hot, and the bathroom door was clear glass, so I could easily see my wife showering and doing her stuff. I was okay with it, but it could've felt uncomfortable if my children were there. I hope they've changed that by my next visit.

Parking is a real plus, since not every hotel in Xalapa has it. The interior garden is lovely and gives you a peaceful, tranquil feeling, and there's a charming reception area too. The hotel is in a beautiful early 20th-century building, with cozy, elegant rooms, comfortable beds, and well-cared-for pillows. Mrs. Hortencia is very kind and attentive to what you need. I highly recommend the place for its charm and comfort.
