Hotel San Diego

We spent four days here and came away with some great memories. Our corner room on the top floor had two balconies and a spectacular view. The rooms are spacious, and housekeeping serviced ours every day. The hotel is iconic and shows up in lots of Guanajuato tourism videos. From here, walking anywhere in Centro Historico is easy. We couldn't have asked for a better view or location.

The location is great, but I don't think the price is justified. There's dirt on the floor, and the noise outside goes on loudly until late. Without AC, the rooms get hot and stuffy. Opening the balcony doors brings in air, but the noise makes it hard to sleep.

The staff were great, and the location is good, but the rooms really aren't. Mine had a dusty, not very clean feel, and the bathroom was pretty nasty, as the picture shows. There's no AC, which I found wild, especially since this was my first time staying somewhere without it. A small window faced the hallway, with no curtain or blackout covering. The bright hallway light came straight into the room and made it hard to rest. In my opinion, the hotel needs to step things up.

The location is the one good thing here. There's no air conditioning, so the rooms get hot and the balcony door is the only way to cool them. But those balconies face loud music that runs until around midnight on weekdays, and until 2-3am on weekends or holidays.
